Fernando Gomes Mattar

Dr. Fernando Gomes Mattar is an economist serving as a Research Scientist at the Partnered Evidence-based Policy Resource Center (PEPReC) at the VA Boston Healthcare System and in the Department of Health Law, Policy, and Management at the Boston University School of Public Health. His research interests are broadly in health and labor economics, and econometric methods. In addition, Dr. Gomes Mattar has research experience on the impact of welfare programs on health outcomes and in applying probabilistic record linkage methods to administrative and public health data. He received his PhD in economics from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro in 2018.
