Kiersten Strombotne
Kiersten Strombotne is a health economist with the Partnered Evidence-based Policy Resource Center (PEPReC) at the VA Boston Healthcare Service, and an assistant professor of Health Law, Policy & Management at the Boston University School of Public Health. Her research examines the link between risky health behaviors and chronic disease development across the life course. Recent projects have examined the effectiveness of policies and programs to improve mental health and substance use related outcomes at the VA. This work reflects a broader interest in understanding how social and behavioral influences can be leveraged to design more effective policy to improve health and alleviate disparities. Dr. Strombotne has a PhD in Health Policy and Management from the Yale School of Public Health and a BA in Economics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
