Wenjia Zhu
Wenjia Zhu, PhD, is a Research Scientist with the Partnered Evidence-Based Policy Resource Center (PEPReC) at the VA Boston Healthcare System and in the Department of Health Law, Policy & Management at the Boston University School of Public Health. A health economist by training, Dr. Zhu has expertise in causal inference, program evaluation, and data analytics. Her research applies quasi-experimental designs and advanced statistical methods to evaluate health care policies and initiatives, with the goal of generating actionable, evidence-based insights for policymakers. Her work has examined health care demand elasticities, provider treatment patterns, health insurance expansion, care transformation, long-term care, and behavioral health.
Previously, Dr. Zhu served as a health economist at Mathematica Policy Research and as a Marshall J. Seidman Fellow in the Department of Health Care Policy at Harvard Medical School. She received her PhD in economics from Boston University, her MA in economics from Duke University, and her BA in mathematical economics from Fudan University.
